Cerebrolysin

Peptides

Updated : May 13, 2026

Class: Neuroprotective Peptide Mixture / Neurotrophic Agent

Cerebrolysin is a highly purified peptide mixture derived from porcine brain protein, containing active peptide
fragments with properties similar to endogenous neurotrophic factors (BDNF, NGF, CNTF). It has been used
clinically in Europe and Asia for decades for the treatment of stroke, traumatic brain injury, Alzheimer’s
disease, and vascular dementia. It promotes neuronal survival, neuroplasticity, and cognitive function.

Key Benefits

• Neurotrophic — mimics BDNF, NGF, and other growth factors
• Neuroprotective — reduces neuronal apoptosis and oxidative damage
• Promotes neuroplasticity and formation of new synaptic connections
• Clinically studied for stroke recovery, TBI, and Alzheimer’s disease
• Enhances cognitive performance, memory, and learning in healthy individuals
